Players:
I have a Pioneer LDV-2000 (old and on loan) and a DVL-700 (DVD/CD/LD player). Neither are modified for anything yet.
Copy Protection:
LDs have no copy protection, Macrovision or otherwise. Equipment to copy LD to LD is expensive and not worthwhile for most collectors. If your copy gets damages, you may just as well buy the DVD version or buy a used LD.
